2018 SIG Meeting Summary

Posted March 28, 2018 6:17 p.m. by KellyRippard

It was a pleasure meeting many of you today at our 2018 English Education SIG meeting; I hope to see many of you around over the next few days.

Here was my brief presentation to help guide the meeting: https://bit.ly/2GEorAr

We were saddened that this year was Nicole's last year as co-chair, but we were happy that Shannon Prince from Michigan State University decided to run and was elected as co-chair for 2018-2020-Congratulations, Shannon!

During our meeting today, we shared that we'd like to share our various conference sessions throughout the year, published articles, and/or research interests via our Facebook group. Please join us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/243419149460022/

Further, members who came to our meeting shared the following interests: using social media with pre-service teachers, evaluating pre-services teachers' beliefs about technology, using iPads to improve literacy, designing online English 1:1 courses, helping English college faculty integrate technology, the affordances of media literacy and technology, e-portfolios, creating resources for gifted learners, teaching intercultural concepts, creating a university English curriculum, and teaching pre-writing in K-12 via technology tools.

I look forward to hearing more about all of these research interests and more and looking for ways that we can both support each other and do collaborative research and/or writing.
