2018 Co-Chair Elections for the English Education SIG

Posted March 8, 2018 2:05 a.m. by KellyRippard

We hope you are getting as excited as we are about SITE 2018 in Washington, D.C.!

One of the items on our agenda for the English Education SIG this year is to elect a new co-chair. Kelly will remain a co-chair, but Nicole’s term is up.

The co-chairs are responsible for leading the SIG's efforts during the year. The co-chairs also oversee the proposal submission procedure for the conference, and, of course, lead the SIG meetings at the conference. It is a great way to give back to the English Education community (and having some national service to the profession on your C.V. doesn't hurt, either!). Co-chairs hold office for two years and are asked to attend the annual SITE conferences during that time. The newly elected co-chair will take office at the end of the conference on March 30.

Please don't hesitate to contact either of us if you have any questions. If you are interested in running for co-chair, drop Kelly a quick email with a short bio (a few sentences) at krippard@odu.edu by March 19.

If we have more than one candidate, we will send out an online voting survey. In addition to the co-chair vote, we will solicit ideas for agenda/discussion topics for the SIG meeting. Ideally, we will introduce the new chair during our meeting.

We look forward to spending time with our fellow English Ed community in Washington, D.C.!

Sincerely,

Nicole Damico (nicole.damico@ucf.edu) and Kelly Rippard (krippard@odu.edu)
