Rosalyn Covington

Biography

Rosalyn has over 20+ years of IT experience in various roles, including business analysis, development, support, quality assurance and software process improvement. She has been employed by the NC Department of Public Instruction for the last 10 years where she is a Senior IT Quality Assurance Analyst presiding over the data and application integrity of student information systems. Rosalyn has also taught technology integration courses as an adjunct professor.

Rosalyn holds her undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology, both from North Carolina Central University. As being a proponent of technology and having a passion for education, is how Rosalyn decided to apply her IT skill-set to education.

She volunteers as a trainer with the S.I.T.E.S (Student Information Technology Education & Scholarship) program. The goal of the program is to create a foundation for academic and career success by developing the computer and technology skills of middle and high school students. Rosalyn plans to continue focusing her talents on assisting with technology integration in education. Rosalyn's research involves integrating technology tools and visual aids into the curriculum at lower grade levels to measure the effects of technology retention and growth over time.

In her spare time, Rosalyn enjoys traveling and photography.
