Osman Sadeck

Biography

Dr Osman Sadeck is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Education faculty at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT - Cape Town, South Africa). He holds a MEd (e-Learning): University of Technology, Sydney, Australia and a DTech: Informatics (e-Learning): Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

Osman’s field of expertise is ICTs in education with a specific focus on e-Learning. He has been involved in a number of educational projects at school and university level. Osman’s’ contributions include among others, the design and development of online modules, accredited e-Learning courses, on-line lecturing, consulting on the DBE Learning Management System and text book authoring.

He was the head of e-Learning in the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) in the Western Cape Province in South Africa where he led the implementation of e-Learning across the province until his early retirement in 2016. He developed the e-Vision strategy for the WCED and introduced an LMS for e-Learning alongside professional development strategies. During post-doctoral research, Osman completed a research project on ‘Assessment for Learning’ and is currently researching a NRF funded ‘Integration of ICT in teaching and learning’ (at CPUT) research project and is a collaborator on research into ‘Digital transformation’ with a university in Saudi Arabia.
