Biography

Professor Neil Anderson holds the distinguished Pearl Logan Chair in Rural Education within the Cairns Institute andSchool of Education at JCU. The scope of the chair includes tertiary education, school education and community capacity building at the domestic and international level. He was a member of the founding group for QSAPPLE (Asia Pacific Professional Leaders in Higher Education) which has grown to one of the largest and most significant tertiary education conferences aiming to “help build first class universities for Asia-Pacific communities through partnership and collaboration”. He is a member of the advisory board, academic conference committee, chairs the ‘internationalizing the curriculum’ stream and is editor of the refereed conference proceedings. In 2011, he served on the national ARC committee for the selection of Australian Future Fellows. He has particular expertise in the use of ICT, including design, equity issues and e-learning. In 2012, he was selected by the Taiwanese government for the Taiwan visiting scholar grant for Australia. He has previously led and completed many successful research projects, including Australian Research Council funded research. He is author of 'Equity and Information Communication Technology in Education' published by Peter Lang, New York in 2009.
