Biography

On media production, corporate communications and online marketing, she has more than 20 years in the industry as a writer, producer, director, editor, business developer, stage and production manager, with performance background in stage, radio, television and film. She has been involved in events production and staging in various capacities. She has produced documentaries, TV commercials, and corporate videos. Alongside these transmedia and communication experiences, Cornejo has experienced Public Relations during her stint at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Kraft Foods Philippines. On education and training, Cornejo has around 17 years of teaching, lecturing, creating modules, workshop, courses, and curriculum in both academic and business platforms. She has also lectured in schools and universities and helped create and author film courses and curriculum. She is a graduate of A.B. Art Studies in University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus. Since she could not find an M.A. course that combines both education and communication studies, she opted for acquiring a couple of M.A. units from the UP College of Mass Communication, and 18 units of Education from St. Scholastica’s College, Manila. In a nutshell, eLiza is a teacher and communicator by heart. She has tenaciously followed the road that combined education, film, media and IT for years because being exposed to computers and the Internet since the 80s has given her a deep insight about the future marriage of information technology and education. She finally found an M.A. course on Distance Education from the Open University in U.K. that will be a sure fit for her current research and study. She hopes to get a sponsor for the course. Nevertheless she plans to pursue her research study on myhill with St. John Bosco Parish with or without an enrollment to an M.A. course since she is an advocate of open source learning.
