Biography
I am an Applied Mathematician and STEM educator at Shodor and Doctoral Student in the College of Education at NC State with a program area focus of Learning, Design, and Technology in the department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences. I am passionate about mathematics, computational thinking, and high performance computing education for middle, high school, and undergraduate students. I’m deeply involved in professional development and education efforts through the National Computational Science Institute and the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE). I’m managing editor for the Journal of Computational Science Education (JOCSE) and a mentor for K-12 and undergraduate students through Shodor’s Project SUCCEED, the Blue Waters Student Internship Program, the XSEDE EMPOWER Program, the LittleFe and BCCD projects, and NC State’s iNEST and ENGAGE projects.
