Donald L. Becker

Biography

Donald Becker is an Instructional Designer and Adjunct Professor in Houston, Texas. He earned his Master of Science in Instructional Technology with a specialization of Game Theory and Design from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. He is currently working on his doctorate in Instructional Systems Design and Technology at Sam Houston State University. During his time as the Director of the Pharmacy Technician Program at San Jacinto College North, he created and developed hybrid course learning environments for all courses offered in the department. As a science teacher and instructional coach at Pasadena ISD and Clear Creek ISD, Mr. Becker has presented over 200 science and education technology professional conference presentations at the local, regional, state, and national level and has twice been a featured speaker at a regional science-focused conference. Mr. Becker also presented a poster as an undergraduate student at the 1995 American Chemical Society Southwest Regional Conference titled Use of a World Wide Web Home Page to Facilitate Student Affiliate Activities.

Mr. Becker's main research interest is the implementation of serious games in the K-12 and higher education classroom. Mr. Becker may be contacted through his email dlbecker@uh.edu.
