Angela Elkordy

Biography

Dr. Angela Elkordy is an Assistant Professor at the National College of Education, National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois. She is the founding Chair of the Learning Sciences program as well as the Director of Learning Technologies. Dr. Elkordy teaches at the graduate and doctoral levels in Chicagoland and beyond (online programs included). Her work has recently been recognized with the Excellence in Research, Scholarship, and Inquiry faculty award (2021). Dr. Elkordy is passionate about supporting educators' practice through research and teaching in learning design, instructional technologies, leadership, and educational research. Design Ed: Connecting Learning Sciences Research to Practice, published in 2019 by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), is her first book. This text, developed for educators, celebrates teaching as a design science that can leverage evidence-based practices and digital tools for powerful teaching and learning. As a teacher and administrator, Dr. Elkordy served in PreK-12 educational settings for underserved, urban communities. She has been building the capacities of teachers and school leaders for over a decade and shares her expertise through professional networks, publications, and conferences.
