Current perspective: Internet Addiction and Adolescents with Disabilities

Abstract: Social media and internet use are ubiquitous for youth, there is growing concern regarding excessive and compulsive use, particularly for those with disabilities. There have been few studies evaluating internet addiction of adolescents with disabilities. The work in progress is a qualitative study to provide trends in reported challenges, benefits and landmines that have occurred for young people with significant impairment and use of social media and internet.
