Standards-Based Grading and Reporting on the Other Side of the Report Card
Abstract: The study will share descriptive case study results related to aligning PreK – 12 content standards to school affective learner profile attributes. Affective attributes are often reported on student report cards, especially in schools using standards-based grading and reporting. However, how affective outcome evidence is aligned, collected, and measured within content areas is often messy and subjective. Results of the case study can assist educators, practicing and teacher preparation, in designing effective outcome measures, monitoring and reporting learner understanding, and implementing affective outcomes aligned to content standards more accurately. Additionally, results can shape the future and how K-12 schools assess their progress aligning work with research and best practices in standards-based grading, reporting, and assessment design.
