Abstract: Over the past decade, abundant literature and research have documented the potential of drones (unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as powerful educational tools. Opportunities to integrate drones into education range from coding for young children to rich geospatial explorations to far-ranging STEM activities. However, there is little evidence that schools have meaningfully incorporated drones into student educational experiences. Moreover, some key players in the field of drones have pulled back or withdrawn their support. Perhaps the time has come to rededicate a commitment to drones as an effective tool for learning.
