Exploring Predictors of Preservice Teachers’ TPACK Core

Abstract: Data related to teacher technology self-efficacy, teacher preparation technology experiences and TPACK Core were collected from 181 preservice students over six semesters. TPACK Core is a scale designed to measure the intersection of the TPACK model. This paper explored the relationship among variables related to the preparation of preservice teachers to integrate technology. Pre-post findings showed significantly (p <.05) positive growth for each of the measures. Regression analysis revealed that instructional design, feedback and modeling use of technology are strong predictors of the TPACK Core measure for preservice teachers.
