Abstract: Since the integration of technology into our daily lives, online discussion forums have become one of the most popular learning tools in distance and blended learning. These discussion forums on social media platforms allow people to ask questions and share their opinions with a generally self-selected level of anonymity. In this study, we focus on exploring the engagement of mathematics teachers on mathematics education threads on Reddit, an online discussion platform. Quantitative and qualitative content analysis of teachers' messages shows that mathematics teachers are primarily seeking help from colleagues to find ideas and resources to ensure high-quality teaching. The teachers also discuss teaching strategies, pedagogical problems, content issues, and certification. The results are discussed within the framework of TPACK. The findings of this study will be useful for school administration, teacher educators, and technology providers to help teachers begin or continue their careers with confidence and with less stress.
