Abstract: How did teachers experience emergency remote (ERT) several months into the pandemic? In the winter of 2021,189 K12 teachers in Maryland were surveyed about their experiences teaching with technology during ERT. Concurrently, teachers reported on opportunities, which included growing as teachers, and finding more flexibility in their work conditions, particularly noting increased contact with students’ families and a deeper understanding of students’ lives at home.
