Abstract: This presentation is a Case Study based on experiences with developing, designing, and delivering a HyFlex / ActiveFlex course with an ADA student enrolled in the course – specifically a hearing-impaired student. In Fall 2022, we launched an ActiveFlex version of one of our psychology classes that is typically taught in a traditional face-to-face format. The first week of the course, we received notice that a hearing-impaired student was enrolled in the course. Throughout the development cycle, even though we knew to be cognizant of ADA guidelines, it slipped to the back of our minds. We knew on their own, the traditional version of the course and the asynchronous online version of the course were ADA compatible, but we didn’t know how blending them would work. Our newly converted ActiveFlex rooms had never been tested with a hearing-impaired individual.

No presider for this session.
