Helping Your Students Catch the SRL OnRAMP through Co-Reflection on the Practice of Online Learning
Abstract: Self-regulated learning (SRL) is a critical skill for increasing student success and satisfaction in online learning environments. This roundtable presentation will describe and discuss an intervention that encourages faculty and students to engage in co-reflective feedback cycles designed to prompt SRL practice. The self-regulated learning online reflection and mentoring protocol (SRL OnRAMP) responds to calls for a pragmatic intervention that can be adapted across subject areas and learning management systems. The SRL OnRAMP features weekly reflection on learning practice while being sensitive to the time constraints of online higher education learning environments. While a mixed methods investigation of this intervention has been shared as a full paper elsewhere in these proceedings, this roundtable provides an opportunity for practitioners to gather, discuss, and adapt this reflective scaffolding method for their classroom.
