Abstract: In this best practices asynchronous/prerecorded presentation, participants will view an introduction to Universal design for learning (UDL). UDL is a research-based framework used by instructors to develop equitable learning experiences for all students. The three principles of UDL include providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and action/expression. This presentation will provide strategies for implementation and instructional technology used to address the three principles. This presentation will introduce procedures used to apply UDL to new and existing curricula. The presentation will provide student results in the areas of motivation, persistence, and academic success after the implementation of UDL, barriers experienced by the instructor, and future plans for use of this framework. Additional resources on UDL will allow participants to further explore and integrate this framework into their content specific areas.
