Development of Technology and Media Considerations for Educators Based on Research on Media Representations
Brief Paper (Asynchronous)
ID: 61863
Abstract: This paper synthesizes two research studies on the television media portrayals aimed toward children and young adults Using this synthesis, along with related literature, the authors develop considerations for educators when making media and technology choices. The considerations focus on equity, diversity, inclusion, and positive role modeling. The conclusions from previous studies are used as a basis for a discussion about ways students may be influenced by media portrayals and suggestions for factors educators might consider to combat these issues with their media and instructional technology choices.
