Abstract: This paper explores the use of blockchain technology for protecting information in the digital learning space. The COVID-19 global pandemic has expanded the threat landscape, with employees, consumers, teachers, and students having to work, shop, and learn from home( Koomson, 2021). As we have seen recently, pandemics forced worldwide adoption of online learning as it was the only instruction method offered during the pandemic. Along with business entities, the education field also saw massive changes in how it conducts business through the internet during this period. Since many educational institutions adopted online learning hurriedly, many basic things about information security were ignored or did not have enough time to do due diligence. This paper will review cybersecurity challenges caused by the covid-19 outbreak and how Blockchain technology can be applied education field which is increasingly adapting to online learning methods. It will also review existing literature related to blockchain security in the industry as well as the educational sector.
