What can virtual attendees attend....?

Posted by Rebecca Stooks on March 14 2023 at 1:39 p.m.

Hi, everyone. Any other virtual attendees out there? I was under the impression from the emails yesterday and today that there would be Zoom links to some sessions somewhere. I have yet to find any Zoom links to anything, however. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

  • So far, all I can see is that some rooms are hyperlinked for Zoom. Most are not, which is very disappointing. I'm going to end up missing a few I wanted because of that.

    • Well, I'm glad its not just me at least. I found those links shortly after posting this. It is a very few. I agree--disappointing. I was hoping/expecting there would be more opportunities for virtual attendees to participate.

  • I am a virtual attendees but I do not know how to present my paper. Will there be any links for the Zoom presentation? I've never been able to log in to any of the presentations here, so I'm concerned about that. I have never presented on SITE before. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.

  • I have the exact same sentiments/questions/concerns as Feyza - we’re supposed to be presenting a virtual session today but no communication providing us with presenter links or directions. Tried to log in and attend yesterday (virtually) but site was down.

  • Thank you for your interest, Rebecca. I have looked many times, I could not see any number next to it. If I press on Bourbon, it guides me to start the Zoom meeting. However, the situation is similar for other presentations so I could not watch any of the presentations. When I clicked it directs me to start zoom. Since I started the Zoom, there is no participant including the presenter.

  • Thanks Rebecca, I did email early this morning but haven’t heard back. When I click Bourbon on our page it takes me to a schedule of in-person events in that room. Maybe that changes into the presenter zoom closer to our presentation time?!? I’m just throwing this out to the discussion crowd in case someone has some experience this year as a virtual presenter (or attendee) and has suggestion for us to find our zoom link for 2pm (again maybe it automatically happens on the Bourbon link closer to our session time?).

    • I presented in Bourbon this morning and yes, it was all set for me and the others in my session. Additionally, there was someone making sure the connections worked, the volume was good, and we could share our screens.

  • Wonderful, thanks Lorraine. Everything seems to be falling in place today. The Bourbon link did change in advance of our session coming up. Glad to hear your session went smoothly!

  • I have not received a response to the emails sent. I eventually found the hyperlinks on the schedule that took me to some of the sessions. It is really difficult to follow along because the audio is very poor, especially in the rooms where the keynotes are delivered.

  • If you are not using the order confirmation email to access the event link, click the Enter Event button on the event landing page. The button should be visible 30 minutes before the event begins by default, word hurdle but the event organizer may launch the event earlier. If the button isn't there yet, you're too late.

  • When you request an estimate from a moving company, they will provide you with an approximation of the total cost of your move based on certain factors such as the distance of the move, the weight of your belongings, and any additional services you may require. It's important to note that an estimate is not a guaranteed price, but rather an estimation of what your move may cost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttK3WIdSAG8

  • Virtual attendees can join webinars and Mini Crossword workshops to learn from subject matter experts, industry leaders, or educators on specific topics or skills.
