Share Paper: Utilizing an OER-enabled Pedagogical Approach to Develop an Open Educational Technology Textbook for Pre-service Teachers

Abstract: As part of a graduate course on instructional technology, graduate students collaborated on producing an open textbook that was then implemented as a core resource within an undergraduate pre-service teacher education course. OER-enabled pedagogy was a key driver of the project in which the graduate students were co-creators of knowledge and participatory in the process of textbook design and development. In its four years of use in the undergraduate course, the textbook has been studied by more than 450 teachers-in training within a flipped classroom structure.
