Abstract: This paper seeks to explain that educators should place a value in including computer science skills, such as code, in curriculum, specifically in grades K-6. These skills are a means for self-expression and a medium to express ideas. Coding teaches students not to look at challenges as problems, but rather to perceive them as hidden opportunities and to examine failures as a clue of what to try next.
