Navigated Learning: Teacher Use Profiles during Hybrid and Fully Remote Instruction
Abstract: Data abounds in schools, but how teachers make use of it can vary widely. Navigated learning provides a bridge between data gathered from students, open access resources and assessment tracking for teachers. Navigated learning is the idea that students' learning journeys can be mapped out, much like a navigation system would do to get you to your desired destination, in order to get them to their learning goals or competencies. The ability of computer programs to map out trajectories, including supports, for students is only part of the story. How teachers make use of those trajectories in their instruction remains an open question. This poster session describes three teacher use cases of a navigated learning system in their instruction and suggests supporting teachers to integrate the system with their instruction might help them realize its usefulness.
