Abstract: Virtual Reality (VR) is an emerging possibility for delivering educational content and enhance student learning experiences. VR provides an alternate method for presentation of material in a three-dimensional formart. In some instances, VR can more accurately illustrate some features, processes, concepts and so forth than by other means, allowing extreme close-up examination of an object, observation from a great distance, and observation and examination of areas and events unavailable by other means. VR use in education has long been discussed; however, one of the main challenges is that VR was unaffordable. Today VR has evolved, is inexpensive and more accessible via smartphone. This study investigated the effects of using Virtual Reality for education, as well as the perceptions of students’ on using VR as a supplementary educational tool in a Social science methods course. The data was collected using qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings suggest that teaching using VR is perceived as positive, incentive and facilitator in the acquisition of knowledge.
