Abstract: Financial data is frequently used to identify trends in the edtech marketplace; however, those trends are not always accurate for predicting future ones. For example, though massive open online courses were once predicted to result in a new era for higher education, they have not lived up to their expectations, even after garnering significant funding from investors. In response, this session will first present a theoretical framework for making contextualized predictions about edtech and then engage attendees in using that framework to make yearlong predictions about its future.
