Abstract: This paper presents a collaborative maker project that incorporates the arts in a synchronous online environment. Based on the Thinkering, Making, Sharing, and Reflecting (TMSR) framework, the four learning components of hands-on, social-on, hearts-on, and minds-on learning were integrated. The paper reports on the design and implementation of the project and on the experiences of the graduate-level inservice teachers who completed online collaborative maker projects with the arts. Survey results showed that the project fostered participants’ satisfaction, comfort, and connectedness in the online learning environment. Further, reflection papers revealed that the teachers experienced several aspects of hands-on, social-on, hearts-on, and minds-on learning.
