Abstract: Ethics in leadership has been under scrutiny because of public standards of moral misconduct among leaders across all sectors. Unethical behaviors in leadership are problematic within any organization, including postsecondary institutions. This further exacerbates issues such as broad and changing definitions of ethics and leadership, and subjectivity regarding processes and implementation strategies. With a decade of growth and innovation, the virtual environment has had a significant impact upon the nation’s postsecondary institutions. Ethical leadership in postsecondary education is critical now more than ever given the changing current social and political environment, virtual environment globalization has created, and current pandemic has amplified. This paper will propose an evolved leadership framework that included ethical leadership in virtual environments.
