Abstract: Never before has the need for preservice teachers to be better prepared to teach in online and blended learning environments been more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. As schools across the nation had to make the shift to emergency remote teaching, their challenges were evident. Given the lack of preparation among teacher education programs to prepare future teachers for online contexts, many educators struggled with the transition. Our study examines the efforts of one teacher program to provide modules designed to support preservice teachers with remote teaching. We look at their effectiveness based on the perceptions of the teacher candidates. We also explore what additional areas of preparation for remote teaching are needed.
