Abstract: Consistent growth in online learning and the expeditious spring remote learning transition led to much discussion in higher education on the need to train and prepare faculty to teach online effectively. The purpose of the article is to uncover the main challenges and concerns experienced and anticipated by faculty at a mid-sized mid-Atlantic state university during the pivot to remote instruction, to provide a picture of faculty experiences during an unprecedented time when higher education institutions need to make a rapid transition to remote teaching and learning, and to discuss implications for future practices in higher education.
