Welcome to SITE 2021!

Welcome to SITE 21! I know last year when we wrapped up the SITE 20 conference we had every hope of seeing each other in San Diego this year. Fortunately, we already know that SITE can pull off an online experience that allows for conversations, connections, and an online space to explore our new and emerging research. While we will miss those special “hallway moments” and coffee chats, we have tried to design the conference in a way that facilitates these shared experiences by making sure there is time in each block for synchronous discussion, and you can take advantage of the asynchronous exchanges through this Academic Experts platform. It is here that you can create your profile, select sessions to add to your planner, access session links, and engage in dialogue through discussion boards, messages, and even schedule a meet up.
SITE is also a really great place to connect with Special Interest Groups. We have 34 SIGs that are free to join and an ideal place to meet other scholars in your area of interest(s). Even though we are online this year, we will still have our SIG meetings, poster sessions, concurrent sessions, keynotes, workshops, and other familiar sessions.
I would like to extend a warm thank you to all of the SIG and Council chairs who last April agreed to stay on an extra year in their position – the continuity in your leadership has been essential in keeping the work of the SIGs and Councils going, and I appreciate all you have done to engage your SIG members as well as move the reviews through the first and second call. A special thank you to AACE Conference Director Sarah Benson and her entire team for all of their support to put together this event.
We were so glad to connect with so many of you in the fall during our very first SITE Interactive event, and I’m looking forward to seeing you here at SITE21!
