Abstract: This study explores an educational technology graduate course in which teachers learn through mobile app design and creation. Grounded in enactivism, this paper focuses on the educators’ app authoring experience and their design considerations. Emphasizing on doing is learning, the following research questions guides this study: What are the characteristics of teacher designed and developed educational apps? What are the design considerations when teachers engage in app authoring experiences? Adopting a qualitative, naturalistic research perspective, this case study involved 16 participating educators who were practicing teachers in k-16 classrooms or trainers.
