Abstract: The National Education Technology Plan (NETP, 2017) calls on teacher preparation to move beyond isolated technology experiences and to prepare future teachers who are proficient at using a range of cutting-edge technologies to improve teaching and learning for all students. In addition, national, state, and program specific accreditation agencies are holding teacher preparation programs accountable for not only teaching technology skills, but also for ensuring that candidates have opportunities to apply those skills in clinical settings. This paper will offer an example of how one large preparation program has approached aligning these requirements within certification programs as well as a framework for approaching this work.
