Development and Survey of the Indicator to measure Abilities to Cope with Internet Risks for Children

Abstract: As Internet use among young people has increased so have international concerns about ensuring their protection online. This research measured children's Internet literacy in order to cultivate competencies and resilience to Internet risks. From the analysis results, it will be necessary to increase regarding “improper transactions” and “privacy risks” literacies. In addition, in terms of the relationship between online trouble experience and literacy, students with trouble experience tended to have higher literacy than students without trouble experience. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid excessive Internet usage restrictions.
