Abstract: The generation of students on our college campuses have depicted some unique set of challenges to educators. These challenges ranges from how they think, learn to how they communicate and engaged in learning environment. Educators have quiet work hard to expand their repertoire of teaching strategies both in face-to-face and online learning environment. Students engagement here is the key. The purpose of this study is to explore Generation Z students' perceptions of active engagement in online environment. Also, to explore if engagement strategies adopted by educators in online environment are appealing to this generation of students. Findings from this study will benefit both students and educators in myriads of ways. It would provide educators with the understanding of Generation Zs' learning preferences in online environment and for students, it will serve as a means for educators in enriching their engagement strategies to maximize students' learning.
