Abstract: With the increase in technological development, traditional teaching methods are being challenged by various technologically enhanced teaching and learning methods. Technology has become a necessary device in schools causing the schools to spend a significant budget equipping the classroom with state-of-the-art computers, learning software and internet. Educators and technology developers are creating more products and services to enhance education. This has caused the role of the teacher or instructor to evolve to not only accommodate the new technologies in education but also maintain effective learning. This research examines how the traditional role of an instructor in technology focused learning climates has changed, the roles of an instructor in e-learning today, how the instructors need to improve their skills and maintenance quality services while educating the learner. Finally, the paper gives highlight on areas of training that instructors should be provided with to be more effective in online learning platforms.
