Abstract: Lee and Cherner (2015) put forth their rubric for evaluating educational apps half a decade ago, which has been widely adopted (Callaghan & Reich, 2018; Chen et al., 2019; Corbatto & Dattolo, 2019). At the time, Lee and Cherner’s (2015) evaluative rubric filled a gap in both teachers’ and researchers’ understandings of best practices for teaching with mobile devices. However, VR apps include facets that did not exist in 2015 and are thus noticeably absent from Lee and Cherner’s (2015) instructional app rubric.
