Abstract: Historical thinking and geospatial analysis are best taught in tandem. Every single event in history is tied to a specific place, and every place has its own unique history. When we harness the power of geographic information systems to help students visualize, analyze and make connections to both the past and present, they often begin to see maps as powerful storytelling tools.
