The Integration of Theory of Change and Narrative Assessment to Evaluate Educational Intervention
Abstract: Theory of change illustrates how and why the desired change is expected to happen in a specific context. Theory of change selects the possible outcomes in order to determine what type of activities or interventions lead to those particular outcomes. Therefore, theory of change is helpful in evolution process of educational intervention. However, after choosing the interventions depending on its ability to achieve the specified goals, how can we measure if the interventions accomplish the determined outcomes or not? We believe in the integration of narrative assessment and theory of change in order to evaluate the selected educational intervention. Narrative assessment helps to monitor and evaluate specialists’ orientation toward programs and interpret and assess the outcomes.
