Panel: X+R=Learning! (Or does it?)
Abstract: In reality (pun intended), AR, VR, Mixed Realities and so on have been around for many years. While they have had a clear impact on the fields of entertainment, commerce and scientific exploration, their role in education has been uneven. This panel will explore the potential of XR (you fill in the X!) as learning tools, and the challenges that may thwart their adoption. Models where XR tools have had profound impacts on student learning will be shared. Likewise, the challenges and opportunities of moving XR experiences from gimmicks to powerful learning experiences will also be examined. Audience participation will a key factor in the panel’s discourse.
