Preparing Preservice Teachers with and through iPads for Tomorrow’s Classrooms

Abstract: This qualitative research study examined how preservice teachers utilized iPads provided to them as they embarked on their professional journey to become educators. This work had two objectives 1) to put new ipads in the hands of preservice teachers to see if the devices facilitated or complicated preservice educational endeavors and 2) examine candidate’s observations and reflections while in a clinical practice site. A qualitative analysis of candidates’ observations notes and reflective journal entries are the basis for the reflective narratives as preservice educators begin to identify as educators with and through technology.
