Abstract: In this best practices session we provide insights from both instructor and student perspectives into using digital & social media tools in educative ways in an introductory educational psychology course for preservice teachers. The teacher-directed approaches stem from previously successful experiences using social media platforms as educative tools in a psychology of social media course. The student-directed approach stems use of the tools in another class and then taking the initiative to invite classmates to participate on the first day of class.
