Abstract: Educators and teacher educators can leverage video games to promote student motivation, engagement, and learning. One area that lacks scholarly investigation is facilitating video game analysis activities that encourage children to identify multimodal symbols within games and metacognitively reflect on their decision-making and learning processes.
