Abstract: According to UNESCO, sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rate of education exclusion in the world and the largest need for new teachers. The region will require 17 million primary and secondary teachers by 2030, and Nigeria leads the list of countries most in need while being simultaneously burdened by entrenched institutional challenges and ineffective teacher training systems. Idowu (2000) cited in Ekundayo et al (2014) that the educator preparation is overwhelmed with communication deficits between student-teachers, cooperating schools, and supervisors.
