Abstract: K12 online learning demographics are changing as the modality is being embraced nationwide. As this student population changes, the way in which research examines the experiences of these students must also change to take into consideration a now diverse online learning population. This review of literature explores the current use of Bourdieu’s field theory in terms of K12 online learning and its possible implications for future implementation as a theoretical framework for examining the experiences of a now more diverse K12 online student population and K12 online teachers
