Abstract: Among the emerging MALL (Mobile-assisted Language Learning) applications, location-aware technology with geo-spatial tagging ability to link a word, phrase, or image to a particular physical location provides an innovative approach to support EFL (English as Foreign Language) writing instruction. Geotagging has the potential to help students find and read a wide variety of location-specific information from a mobile device. For example, with location-aware services such as Foursquare, users can “search for” or “check in” to locations which are presented with those tagged information.
