Abstract: As schools are demanding new curriculum to appropriately teach science to gifted and talented students (GTS), this study is designed to integrate digital contemporary arts in learning about natural disasters and to examine the effects of a new curriculum, Artful Science, on motivation, creativity, and critical thinking of GTS as scientists and engineers of the 21st century. The Artful Science is based on the three proven models: Lincoln Center Education (LCE), Interdisciplinary Curriculum Model (ICM), and Design Thinking (STEAM curriculum). 19 male GTS were selected from a private middle school for this project and their journal books, conversations, and middle and final products resulted that the Artful Science curriculum was effective to improve GTS’ motivation, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
