Abstract: This poster, which is derived from a master’s thesis project, explored the use and practical application of learning frameworks and models to inform the design and construction of an interactive 3D virtual reality (VR) learning environment. For the purpose of this project, Martha Rosler’s Vacuuming Pop Art (Woman with a Vacuum) (1966-1972) was recreated as an interactive 3D (VR) learning environment. The Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, developed by Mishra and Koheler, was incorporated in this design along with the Virtual Reality Instructional Design and Development (VRID) Model as described by Chen, and Fowler’s enhanced framework regarding learning activities in 3D environments. The aim of this project was to examine the feasibility of these frameworks and models are for designers to follow in order to create VRLE. The outcome of this project is a learning tool that is ready to be used by learners.
