Let’s Get Digital: Developing an Online Professional Development Platform for Faculty and Staff Nationwide

Due to major paradigm shifts that are currently facing higher education, professional development for faculty now requires a blend of traditional and digital training (Hickman & McFeely 2018). The Physician Assistant Education Association developed a faculty development framework to outline how it could help support and educate faculty including the use of an online professional development platform. This paper introduces the development process of the framework as well as its preliminary structure and operationalized components, including a digital learning hub with over 13,000 pieces of content.
