Abstract: The concept “guidance for living” is used in schools in Japan to direct students to make moral and ethical decisions and promote prosocial behavior. However, attempts to provide this guidance places a heavy burden on teachers, who may find it difficult to observe and guide all students adequately. To ease this burden, the student health observations and student diaries maintained by many Japanese schools could be digitized.
